How to Attach Files

  • Drag and drop — Drag files directly into the chat input area
  • Paste — Copy an image or file and paste with Cmd/Ctrl+V
  • Browse — Click the + button in the input bar to pick files from disk

Attached files appear as cards below your message. You can remove an attachment before sending by clicking the X on its card.

What Happens to Your Files

  • Images — Resized to max 1024px on the longest edge and compressed for efficient transmission
  • PDFs and documents — Sent as-is to the AI model, which extracts and reads the content
  • Text files — Read and included directly in your message context
  • Audio — Sent as base64-encoded data for models that support audio input

Use Cases

Data-driven animation Attach a CSV or Excel file and ask Atom to create animated charts, graphs, or data visualizations.

Design references Drag in a mood board, style frame, or client comp. Ask Atom to match colors, spacing, or animation style.

Technical specs Attach a PDF brief with dimensions, timing charts, or brand guidelines.

Audio sync Include an audio file and ask Atom to analyze beats or create markers for sync points.

Privacy

Files you attach are sent to the AI model through your installed agent (Claude Code or Codex). Only attach files you’re comfortable sharing with the AI service.

Atom sends comp frame previews to give the AI visual context of your work. Full-resolution source footage and final renders stay on your machine.
