Installation

Install Atom once and it’s ready every time you open After Effects.

Before You Begin

After Effects CC 2022 (v22.0) or later
macOS 10.15+ or Windows 10+
Claude Code or Codex installed (see Agent Setup)
Internet access for downloads and AI processing

Step 1: Download Atom

Download the latest Atom release ZIP, then unzip it to reveal the .zxp installer package.

Step 2: Install with ZXP Installer

Open ZXP Installer (download it first if needed).
Drag the Atom .zxp file into the window and wait for the “Installed” message.

Step 3: Restart After Effects

Quit and relaunch After Effects to load the extension.

Step 4: Open Atom

In After Effects choose Window → Extensions → Atom. The panel appears and you can resize or dock it anywhere in the UI.

If the menu item isn’t there, quit After Effects, relaunch, and try again. Still missing? Head to Troubleshooting.

Stay Updated

Atom lets you know when an update is available. Download the new .zxp, install it the same way, and you’re up to date.
